BHS: Catharina Muylaert received an award for the best poster presentation at the 37th General Annual Meeting of the Belgian Hematology Society (BHS) in La Hulpe, Belgium on February 4 – 5, 2022.

Elke De Bruyne and her student Catharina Muylaert won the poster award at the 35th General Meeting of the Belgian Hematology Society, 14/02/2020 for their poster entitled "The role of the de novo DNA methyltransferase DNMT3B in multiple myeloma cell survival and drug resistance".

During her doctoral thesis (2011-2016), Kim De Veirman studied the interactions between the tumor and its environment, which leads to survival of the MM cell. Her doctoral work identified novel therapeutic targets to help treat MM patients.

Inge Oudaert won first prize at the 2019 MOSA Conference at Maastricht University with the presentation of her master thesis entitled "Upregulation of acid sphingomyelinase in exosomes contributes to multiple myeloma drug resistance". Congratz Inge!
